Is your Austin swimming pool in need of a remodeling job? Perhaps it’s getting old, showing signs of wear and tear, or it’s just not the style you want anymore. Whatever your reason may be to want or need to remodel your swimming pool, it’s a process that you may want to get familiar with.

Pool Drainage

This might seem obvious, but the pool will have to be drained of its water before any remodeling can take place. It will take a few hours in order for the pool to be completely drained, depending on the size of the pool.

Chipping Out the Pool Surface

Once the water has been completely drained, it’s time to start chipping away at the surface. Then, the surface will be primed and prepped for the new material. This should take a few hours to complete, but it’s also quite messy.

Tiling the Surface

If you want your pool tiled, this is the time for the tiles to be applied. If this is the route you’re taking, grout will first need to be applied. Then the tiles are aligned and adhered to the grout material. This can take a couple of days to complete, depending on the number and size of tiles, as well as if there is any design.

Apply Surface Material

If you’re not applying tile, or have areas where no tile will be applied, the pool surface will be applied. This will require large mixing trucks pouring in the material and smoothing out of the surface material. This can take another couple of days or so.

Refilling With Water

At this point, your pool is ready to be filled with water once again and all appropriate chemicals added to the water.
